Overview
Emersion's platform is designed to enable carriers, suppliers, wholesalers and retailers to provision and bill subscription-based services and products. This is why Emersion is built on a foundation of different kinds of Accounts.
Cumulus User Realms
Service Provider accounts require a Cumulus User Realm to be configured when they are created. The realm is needed so staff can log in to your service provider account via the Cumulus User Interface.
Realm Format: @realm
Cumulus username format = username@realm
End users log into the End User Portal and are not forced to use the Cumulus User Realm.
Emersion recommends:
- adopting the following convention for Cumulus User Realms for downstream wholesale service providers
@wholesale.yourcompanydomain.com.au
- adopting the following convention for Cumulus User Realms for downstream retail service providers.
@yourcompanydomain.com.au
Account Types
In Emersion, you can create different types of accounts for different purposes. The type of account you create determines the following:
- The level in the Emersion multi-tier hierarchy the account is placed in
- System behaviour
- Underlying business rules
- What interface you can use to log in to access the Emersion system (e.g. service provider accounts can use Cumulus, but end user accounts use the end user portal)
For these reasons, the account type can't be changed once it's saved in the system. If you make a mistake, you can either make the account inactive and start again, or request that Emersion delete the account for you. Accounts can't be deleted via Cumulus.
The types of accounts that can be created in the Emersion platform are:
- Wholesale Service Provider Accounts (WSPs)
- Retail Service Provider Accounts (RSPs)
- Non-Billing Retail Service Providers (nbSPs)
- End Users (EU)
- Staff Users
End User accounts can be divided into two sub types:
- Organisations
- Individuals
