Overview
This article covers how to add a bolt-on add-on plan into an add-on group. This creates a relationship between the bolt-on plan and the add-on plan so the system knows which add-on plans to present to users when they choose which bolt-on to subscribe to.
This article is one part of a series that covers the construction of bolt-on add-on plans.
At the conclusion of the steps presented below, steps 8 and 9 of the process to construct a bolt-on add-on plan and prepare it for sale will be achieved.
Repeat these steps for all BUY and SELL add-on plans that need to linked to bolt-ons.
Adding the Bolt-On Add-On to a group
To do this, the user will need to navigate to the relevant bolt-on plan. One of the sub tabs of a bolt-on plan is Bolt-On Add-On Groups. This page displays a list of add-on plans that are already linked to the bolt-on. In other words, this is the list of add-on plans that end users can subscribe to should they subscribe to the bolt-on.
To add a bolt-on add-on plan into an add-on group, follow the steps below.
Packages & Plans > Management > Bolt-ons
Using the search criteria, find the bolt-on.
Click on the ID of the bolt-on plan to open its management page.
Click the Bolt-On Add-Ons Group tab. The page should look like the following screenshot.
On the right, click the Display list of available Bolt-on Add-ons button.
to display the list of bolt-on add-ons that can be linked to this bolt-on. The add-on plan that will be linked to the bolt-on and service plan must:
- be of the same service type as the bolt-on.
- have the same usage/included value type (dollar, units, kilobytes, etc).
Add-on plans that do not match the criteria will not be shown in the list.
Under the Action column, select the bolt-on add-on that that needs to be placed into a group. If you have come to this article by following the wizard learning path, this is the bolt-on that was created in was created in step 6.
If a checkbox is enabled but is read-only, the following message will accompany it.
Removal of Bolt-On Add-On from the current Add-On group is not possible as it is currently part of a configured allowance. Remove the Add-On from the Bolt-On allowance screen under Service Plan [service_plan_internal_name #service_plan_id] first.
In other words, the add on (via a bolt-on) is already attached to the service plan via this group, and there are allowance rules already configured for it.
Once the bolt-on add-on plans to be added to this group are checked, press the Save button.
