Overview

The requirements to collect identification information for validation purposes may vary between service types, between service providers selling the same services and service providers trading in different countries where different identification documents apply.

This article covers how users can alter the default Cumulus contact form to customise fields to behave differently, depending on your requirements.

These fields specifically relate to contact identification as seen under the Privacy and Verification section of the contact form. These fields:

  • can be hidden from the screen if they are not applicable
  • can be set to mandatory or optional
  • accurately capture the artefact that is supplied.

Service providers can determine which type of identity information is collected on the contact screen. The configuration of the contact form elements are bound to an account profile

When configured, the customised version of the Cumulus contact form is used in place of the default Cumulus contact form. Accounts that are not bound to an account profile with a customised configuration will use the default Cumulus contact form.

Different Types of Contacts

Accounts have at least one Primary and Billing contact, but many have an unlimited number of contacts associated with it. Some service types require a service contact to be configured against the service subscription. Other service types optionally provide the ability to capture a service-level contact.

Regardless of the object the contact is bound to, whether it be an account, service, service desk ticket, or another object entirely, the Cumulus form that a user sees, is identical.

Configure the Contact Form

To configure the contact form for customer accounts in an account profile, go to

Admin > Settings > Account Profiles > Contact Identity Configuration

The default country that has been set against your service provider account is presented to the right of the page's heading as shown here. The Default Country is an Account Attribute, meaning any customer accounts that are created under the service provider will adopt the same country setting unless it is explicitly overridden within the contact record.

The page will present a list of contact identifier types that can be potentially controlled in two ways.

Contact Identifier TypeDisplay Control is AvailableDefault Country Override Control is Available
Driver's LicenceYesYes
Medicare CardYesNo
PassportYesNo
Pension CardYesYes

To change the display configuration of a field, use the Display Control drop down to select the field to be either

  • Mandatory
  • Optional
  • Not Available

To change the field so that the default country can be overridden by the user on the Contact page when it is created or edited, select Yes from the Country Override Control drop down. If no is chosen, the default country will be used and cannot be changed.

When you are done, press the Update Configuration button to save the changes.
