Overview

This article covers how users can break the link for between a Xero contact and its associated account in Cumulus.

Disassociating an Emersion account and a Xero contact will stop any synchronisation activity from occurring.  To prevent the corruption of financial data, the account → contact disassociation is subject to a number of rules.

Disassociation Rules

Users can disassociate an Emersion account with a contact in Xero under the following circumstances.

  • No invoices have an outstanding balance.
  • No credit notes are partially allocated.
  • No payments are partially allocated.

All rules must be met.

How to Disassociate an Emersion Account and a Xero Contact

Customer > Details > Xero Sync

This will open the Xero Contact Synchronisation screen. This example here shows that there is an existing Xero Contact linked to this Emersion account.

Click the Edit button to put the page into EDIT mode.

In the Xero Contact Name field, delete the entry.

Press the Save button.

The system will scan over the account to ensure the business rules are all met and provide an on screen report to the user via a pop up window.

In this scenario, it is not possible to continue.

Close the window by clicking the X in the top-right.

If the account passes the validation checks, the user will be asked to confirm the action.

Once the action is confirmed, the account will be disassociated and the screen will refresh.
