Overview

Early Upgrade provides service providers the ability to offer the customer the chance to upgrade to an alternative plan before their existing contract has ended without incurring the normal contract break out fees.

Instead of contract break out fees, early upgrades can attract its own fee. In the case of an early upgrade, the contract breakout rules will not apply. If an early upgrade fee is not set, the system will treat it as a normal break of contract and apply those rules accordingly.

Early upgrade eligibility criteria and fees are set on a contract type. If your end user customer meets this criteria:

  • a banner notification will be displayed
  • the package subscription screen will include the upgrade button
  • an on-screen note will be displayed, including the early upgrade fee that is applicable.
