Overview
This article covers how to finalise a service type migration in Cumulus.
Finalising a service type migration means to perform the following tasks:
- checking the information entered when the migration was initiated
- making any last adjustments
- triggering the activation of services (if not using the activation portal).
Finalise a Service Type Migration
Services > Service Type Migrate > Provisioning
The user will be taken to the list of migrations that are ready to be reviewed, updated and finalised.
Click the ID of the migration to open it.
Service Configuration page of the service type migration process
The user will be presented with the screen on the left.
This page is comprised of:
- The sections and fields required for the migration to take place. These are the same as seen when initiating a service type migration.
- Service Configuration sections, including service properties, service features and other billing objects relevant to the destination service type.
At this point, users still have a chance to modify settings before the migration proceeds.
For example, the override package plan during activation option may be useful when you have preselected a package plan but the customer wants a different one. Allowing the customer to choose their preferred plan before finalising will save Cumulus users from having to withdraw the service type migration and starting again from scratch.
Each service type is different, with different service configuration requirements. therefore, the service configuration sections that are presented on screen will change for each service type.
On this screen:
- Complete all information on the screen as required.
- Review the information one more time. Once saved, the migration record will be closed. No further changes will be possible, and the migration cannot be withdrawn.
- One you are happy with the settings, press Save.
The migration will be updated to Pending Activation status.
Service Activation
How the service activation step occurs will vary based on a number of factors, namely the:
- service type itself and whether it is manually or automatically provisioned.
- use of the activation portal.
It is out of scope of this article to go into detail regarding how to activate services in Cumulus. But briefly:
fully automated services are provisioned directly via programmatic integration between Emersion and the service supplier's platform.
semi-automated provisioned and manually-provisioned services are activated via Services > Manual Provisioning.
Post Activation
However it happens, once the service has been activated, the migration is placed into the Completed status and becomes a read-only record.
