Overview

Subscribers to Emersion's IPND module are provided a specific page that enables service providers to:

  1. see all the activity related to IPND updates
  2. view errors that are returned from the IPND Manager related to a particular service record
  3. resubmit the updated contact information to update the IPND once the error is corrected.

This page is located in the Quarantine section of Cumulus.

IPND Batch Quarantine

To access this page, go to Billing > Quarantine > IPND Batch

The user can filter the records using the

  • ID
  • Contact name
  • Service ID
  • Service Identifier
  • Error

The far-right column will show any actions that are permitted on the record. The total list of options are

  • View Error
  • Resolve and Submit
  • Ignore

Viewing Errors

To view the error in more detail, click View Error

Users can see the errors the IPND Manager is reporting for this address.

There may be more than one error affecting the record. If so, there will be multiple record entries in IPND Batch Quarantine. We suggest filtering on the Service ID or Service identifier to see all errors related to a particular service.

Resolving Errors

Once the error is known, the user can navigate to the service subscription record in question in Cumulus. Once corrected, it can be resubmitted back to the IPND Manager. For instructions on how edit an IPND contact in Cumulus, see this article.

To submit the record back to the IPND Manager, click on Resolve and Submit.

This will put the the record into the status of Pending where one of two outcomes is possible:

  • If the IPND Manger accepts the updated address, a new record will appear in IPND Quarantine with a status of IPND Update OK.
  • If the IPND Manager does not accept the updated address, a new record will appear in IPND Quarantine with an error code.

Where multiple service identifiers exist for a given Service, you will be required to manually Resolve and Submit each individually quarantined IPND record.

It is suggested to filter on Service ID in this scenario to assist with identifying the individual records.

Ignoring Errors

If the record is to be ignored in future, click Ignore.
