Overview

Cumulus staff users and end users (via the end user portal) can manage their subscriptions to bolt-ons and bolt-on add-ons. In the case of automated service types, requests to alter a subscription are sent directly to the carrier's provisioning platform via integration between the carrier's platform and the Emersion system.

A variety of use cases will see the carrier's platform return a negative result, meaning the provisioning request cannot be fulfilled.

This article covers how to use the Provisioning Errors page in Cumulus to address these issues.

Permissions

The Provision Errors page will require a Power to be enable

Base Power > Subscription Management > Managing Halted Subscriptions

It is recommended you limit access to this page to as few staff as possible and ensure they understand exactly what will happen in the different provisioning halted scenarios.

Viewing Provisioning Errors

If a provisioning request against a subscription is halted due to a provisioning error, the system will store the underlying failure reason against the subscription.

To access a list of halted subscriptions and the reasons, go to:

Services > Provisioning Errors

This list contains all subscriptions that have been unable to be processed properly by the service supplier's platform.

  • Service Subscriptions
  • Service Bolt-On Subscriptions
  • Service Bolt-On Add-On Subscriptions
  • Service Feature Subscriptions (Service Feature Subscriptions currently will not show a failure reason in the list. The Service Subscription > Provisioning Logs tab can be used to view the provisioning log output instead.)

Subscriptions on this page will only be shown if they are in either PreActive or PendingProvCancel status.

For automatically provisioned service types, it is not advisable to use this functionality to retry provisioning on PreActive Service Subscriptions.
For WME services specifically, these typically halt due to things like missing DOB or Account Number (or it's been entered wrong) - especially for Port In scenarios. We suggest consulting the the service subscription page as additional information may be required prior to retrying.

Operations Permitted

Against each halted subscription, there is a selection check box. User can select one or more halted subscriptions to perform a certain action against them. User has the "Check All" checkbox also available that can select all the items in the list.

The operations that are permitted against the selected halted subscriptions include the following:

  • "Retry Selected" will mark the selected subscription object(s) ready for re-provisioning.
  • "Abort Selected" will mark the selected subscription object(s) as Aborted. However, subscriptions which are in "Pending Prov Cancel" status, cannot be aborted.

Retrying and Aborting Halted Subscriptions

  • Navigate to Services > Provisioning Errors
  • Using the filters supplied, search for your chosen subscription and click Search
  • Check the box beside each row you wish to act on, or alternatively check the top-most box to automatically check all within the current paginated view
  • Depending on your desired outcome, either click the Retry Selected or the Abort Selected button
  • A confirmation box will always be displayed to allow you to confirm your action by clicking Yes or to cancel the action click No

A successful Retry or Abort attempt will display a notice like the following;

An attempt to Abort a subscription in PendingProvCancel status will result in the following error message;

  • There is no limit on the number of retries
