Overview
This article covers how to map Emersion's default ledger codes to your own ledger codes from your existing accounting software.
This Ledger Code Mapping page is not for service providers who have enabled an integration between Emersion and their supported accounting software. If you are integrating Emersion with your accounting software, you can map your accounting system's ledger codes via the Ledger Codes screen under the relevant integration's settings page.
There are two ways to map ledger codes in Emersion
- Manually in Cumulus
- Using a bulk import tool.
Map a Ledger Codes in Cumulus
Admin > Ledger Mapping
The page will display showing a list of all Emersion ledger codes along with any custom ledger codes that are already set up.
To map a ledger code, use the search filters at the top of the page, find the code you want to map.
Click on the Ledger Code.
The Mapping Ledger Code page will be displayed to the user.
Press the Edit Button to put the page into EDIT mode.
In the Mapped Ledger Code field, enter your custom ledger code.
Optionally enter a description.
- If you want to override the ledger's default code, click the Copy Default Code to Mapped button.
- If you want to override the ledger's simple code, click the Copy Simple Code to Mapped button.
You must also select an effective date. Be aware that if a past date is selected this will only apply going forward and will not alter any prior records.
Press Save to save the changes.

Mapping Ledger Codes in Bulk
If you have lots of ledger code mappings to create, using Cumulus isn't the most efficient way to do it. Instead, use the bulk import tool.
