No mater whether you are onboarding, or a long-standing Emersion client, there may come a time when your company may need to migrate data from other systems and sources into Emersion.
This section contains information and resources to help you migrate your data into the Emersion platform.
Critical vs Non-Critical Data
There are lots of different types of data you can migrate to Emersion from your source systems, but not all data is essential for billing.
The scope of this article addresses critical data, or in other words, data that must be present in the system in order for you to send an invoice to your customers from the Emersion platform.
Budget Allocation
Your Emersion Agreement may have included a one-time budget allocation of time to help you get this work completed.

The budget that has been allocated is not designed to cover the time required for Emersion's professional services team to do this work on your behalf. Emersion expects onboarding clients to take on the majority of this work themselves as part of leaning the system and retaining control and ownership over their data. .
Consulting budget allocations expire when your Onboarding project is closed.
At the end of Onboarding, any unused allocation will be forfeited and does not carry over into Business-As-Usual (BAU) mode.

Professional Services - Data Consulting
Emersion can provide the following data consulting services:

| Data Import | The client prepares the data for import using an Emersion supplied import template. Emersion will import data into the system on your behalf. |
| Data Translation | Emersion takes your source data and translates it into Emerson's format for importing. Emersion will then import data into the system on your behalf. |
| Data Analysis | Emersion works with you to analyse the state of your existing data to understand the scope of work needed to successfully migrate it. |
Are you Onboarding?
Emersion may have included a limited number of Data Import hours to help you onboard your data. To utilise this budget allocation, speak to your onboarding project manager.

Emersion does not take ownership of your data under any circumstances. Prior to importing any data, written sign off must be provided.
While Emersion can advise if your source data passes technical validation (i.e. All mandatory fields are complete, data is formatted correctly, etc), we cannot validate it for accuracy.
Emersion takes no responsibility for imported data that turns out later to be inaccurate.
