Overview
This article advises how service providers can override the default session timeout values for their Cumulus users.
By default, the system will display a session expiry warning message after 13 minutes and, if no activity if subsequently detected, the user will be logged out in 15 minutes.
The maximum expiry or warning duration that can be configured is 60 minutes and a minimum of 1 minute.
Setting a Provider-Level Default
Service providers can override the settings as follows:
Admin > Settings > Service Provider Defaults > Session Timeout.
The Session Timeout administration screen will open.
- Press the Edit button to put the page into Edit mode.
- Enter the Expiry Duration in minutes (ensure you check the Override box if required).
- Enter the Warning Duration in minutes (ensure you check the Override box if required).
- Press Save to save the changes or Cancel to discard them.
If the Expiry Duration is set to 15 minutes & Warning Duration is set to 2 minutes:
A warning message will pop up when there is only 2 minutes remaining until the session is expired (i.e. at the 13 minute mark)
