Overview
"Quarantine" is the area of the Emersion system where you can access usage that cannot be fully processed and billed to customers.
This training session covers usage and usage mediation.
Group sessions for Quarantine training are currently unable to be accommodated.
Users will be trained using real usage data in their own instances of Emersion.
Users will first be introduced to the usage mediation process using Emersion's Batch Mediation System ('BMS').
- Raw usage from carriers must successfully pass through 3 distinct 'gates' in order to be successfully mediated.
- Identification
- Bucketing
- Rating
- Locations of usage that has been mediated and is ready to be billed
- Location of usage that cannot be mediated for some reason (Quarantine)
- Reasons usage cannot be billed
- How to fix mediation errors and issues
- Cleansing quarantine
- manually; or
- in bulk.
- Quarantine reports
Who Should Attend?
Any staff who will be performing a role in the preparation for a typical bill run, specifically any staff tasked with the responsibility of ensuring all usage has fully mediated before the billing period closes.
Session Duration
30 minutes to 1 hour.
Training Prerequisites
Attendees planning on attending this session do not need to have completed any other Emersion training.
Application Readiness
Before this training can occur, all these conditions must be true.
- Your Customers have been entered.
- Your Package Plans are Approved
- At least some of your customers' services and subscription data has been entered (for usage-based services)
- Data is being received from your service suppliers and carriers
- Usage data is successfully mediating.
- Some (or all) usage should have fallen into Quarantine.
Session Content
An Introduction to Usage Mediation
Participants will be introduced to the BMS at a high level and understand how usage is:
- identified
- bucketed
- rated
Usage Locations
Participants will learn where fully rated usage can be found in Cumulus.
Participants will get their first look at the Quarantine pages in Cumulus where usage that cannot be billed is parked for assessment and treatment.
Quarantine Reasons
We will discuss the kinds reasons that usage is prevented from being able to be fully rated, and what to do about it. Using your own customer usage files and records, we will demonstrate how to fix an errors or issue and cleanse quarantine.
Cleaning or Writing Off Quarantine
This can be done in Cumulus manually or via a bulk import. We take participants though both processes.
Quarantine Reports
We point out the various useful quarantine reports and how they can be used to speed up the process of managing quarantine.
