Overview

Events (or 'system events') are a foundation piece of the Emersion ecosystem and is leveraged by many modules and features to automate certain tasks and activities. Events can be time-based, such as the Invoice Overdue event that sends a notification to the customer when their unpaid invoice is still outstanding after a given number of days. Other events are discrete events and are triggered by a certain activity occurring, such as an account being disabled.

Events can be account-centric, service-centric or process-centric.

  • An account-centric event acts on the account, such as the Account Creation event or Credit Card Expiry event.
  • A service-centric event is service-specific and ignored the account altogether. An example would be the usage threshold notifications that can send a message to a mobile number when the user reaches a certain usage threshold.
  • A process-centric event revolves around the process being checked first, and if the conditions are correct, it can be acted upon.

Licensing

This feature is available to subscribers of the following:

  • Emersion Core (Messages Only)
  • Optional Modules
  • Upon Request (please contact your Account Manager)

It is arguable that the Events subsystem isn't really a 'module' at all. You cannot run Emersion without Events and the module cannot be 'disabled'.

Onboarding?

If your company is onboarding Emersion within your business, the events provided to you will vary. Emersion provides a standard set of events to all service provider accounts. This list of events that are included vary slightly for wholesale service providers vs retail service providers.

Events that are related to specific service types, modules and features will also be added to your account if your subscription includes those relevant services.
