Overview

Trading terms refers to how invoices are handled in terms of when they fall due.  Different business will have a default set of trading term, and Emersion's system makes no assumption on what these terms are. This article covers the trading terms features in Emersion and how to use it.

Trading terms are core to the system, as they determine how Emersion's system calculates the invoice due date.  During onboarding, your onboarding project manager will ask for your standard default set of trading terms and set them up in the system for you when your service providers account is initially created. Our system supports the following trading term options:

RuleExample
$x days after the invoice issue date7 days, 14 days, 21 days.
$x day of the current monthEvery month on your chosen date where the invoice will cover the current period.
$x day of the following monthvery month on your chosen date where the invoice will cover the previous period.
$x days after the account invoice period end date

If the account invoice period ends on the 31st, x days after.

Some customers may have an agreement with you to vary these terms.  The default terms can be overridden for these customers.

Trading Terms are an account attribute in Emersion.  This means that a service provider's default trading terms are inherited by child accounts, unless they are overridden at the customer-level.
